Introducing Ananda
Ananda Danielle is a Baltimore-born actress, poet, and interdisciplinary artist whose work exists at the intersection of movement, comedy, and intense storytelling. With over 17 years of dance training in ballet, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean styles, her approach to performance uses the human body and truth as vessels for narrative.
Her love for acting began in TWIGS, a middle-school after-school program curated by the Baltimore School for the Arts, where she later attended high school. Her artistic practice continued to expand at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she recently graduated cum laude. She is the co-founder, Director, and Choreographer of N’Spirit Theater Company, where she develops work rooted in cultural memory and embodiment. Through N’Spirit, she co-directed and choreographed Everything a Black Girl Has Left Unsaid, an interpretation of For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf, which received a Rutgers Collaborative Arts Grant and was later performed at the New York Hip Hop Film Festival ’26.
Her recent credits include her Off-Broadway debut in Riven as Wind Spirit, Mud Row (Regine), The Wolves (#25/Captain), and Titus Andronicus (Aaron) at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. She is committed to honoring lineage while creating space for those who follow, working as both instrument and creative force to make a lasting cultural impact.
